Design Tweed Coast

STUDIO 153 design process draws influence from our unique natural environment. Our first step is understanding your site to make the most of natural light, breezes and views. After a series of initIal meetings to understand your requirements, we then use 3D imagery and visualisations to work through a series of design options. We like to take time on this early design stage to make sure the spaces we design together with the composition materials, textures and landscape all come together to make wonderful homes for our clients.  STUDIO 153 will work with you across all project requirements, budgets big and small.

Always refreshing to deal with and full of beautiful and practical ideas that were within the bounds of our budget, John worked very collaboratively with us to take our basic ideas and turn them into something very special.

The proportions and flow of the home, the breezes and light we get and the views we get to appreciate daily are all thanks to John’s great design. Our builder also commented on the “Wow Factor” that you get from using an architect, rather than a draftsperson.

Our home is everything we wanted, our “forever house”.  Sincere thanks to John for working so closely with us to turn our dreams into a reality.

From our first meeting with Johnny we could feel his interest and passion.  He listened intently to our needs, communicated easily with us  and came up with a beautiful design that not only looks amazing but is also functional.

The advantage of having an architect designed home means we have a warm sunny house in winter and a cool house in summer without the need for AC.

We couldn’t be happier with our home.

Mel & Dan, Pottsville

Architect Tweed

Our dream block in the village of Eumundi  put various designers off, saying we couldn't realise our brief on our tight budget, due to its steep slope.

John was able to overcome these hurdles and deliver us a beautiful home which takes advantage of the views and sunlight.

Staging the build meant we could realise the space we need now with opportunity to expand down the track.

Richard & Sharon, Eumundi

Designing and building a home is often the largest financial commitment we will ever make.  Sometimes getting an initial professional opinion will make that process more seamless and risk free.  STUDIO 153 offers a design appraisal service to provide informed design comments and budget saving suggestions to improve the design of your home.  We can also appraise and give design feedback on designs you may already have.

Since living and working on the north coast for the last decade, John has developed a deep appreciation of our region, its climate and the key design principles required to achieve easy living and sustainable houses.  The Studio 153 point of difference is the time we spend upfront to understand your sites opportunities and sketching out design options which explore the interplay of natural light, cooling breezes and views.

We work closely with our clients on each stage of the design process and believe your house becomes your home through that hands on involvement.  The extensive use of 3d modelling and visualisations ensures our clients can see the design evolving and allows us to test sun path and shading through different times of the year.

Indoor / outdoor living in our subtropical climate is a priority.  We believe everyone deserves to kick back on the deck after a day at the beach, to enjoy a relaxed environment while watching the sunset behind Wollumbin and the lightshow of our beautiful green caldera.
